Church School News
Thank
you to our entire Church School Staff for your commitment to our children
and to Christ. We are truly blessed to have a staff with such loving hearts, friendly faces, and caring hands.
You are all very special to us, the children whose lives you touch, and our
entire church family. With love and gratitude, Janet & Shell

"Photos

photographer to cover upcoming events. If you're interested or know
someone who might be, please contact Lew Shafer at ljshafer@optonline.net

Cell Phone

Our Project Timothy teams are
conducting a cell phone recycling fundraiser. Your used cell phone(s) will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations or refurbished and sold.
100% of the proceeds will help fund our Project Timothy youth mission trips.
Please place your used cell phones and batteries in the blue
collection bin outside of the church office. We greatly appreciate your support!
Questions may be directed to Janet Chardavoyne at 973-827-8515.

Our ushers and
greeters on Sunday mornings are members and friends
of the church who make
congregants and visitors welcome and comfortable. We ask that everyone who is able, sign up for one
Sunday. Don’t know what to do? The coordinator will be happy to help! The
sign up sheets are on the board in Friendship Hall. If it’s more convenient, you can call the coordinator and sign up
on the phone.

CROSS
AT THE CROSSWALK IN FRONT OF THE SANCTUARY! The police are under pressure to ticket motorists who do not yield to
pedestrians in the crosswalk. They
have indicated that when we cross the street in front of Friendship Hall we
are “jaywalking.” The police
must enforce all the traffic laws, not just the ones we like. Please use the crosswalks.
For
those attending the early service, it is a little more of a walk, but it is
lawful. Failure to abide may
result in a ticket for “jaywalking.”

Denominational
Assessment
DUES FOR 2008 ARE $85.00 PER PERSON.
THE COST OF OFFERING ENVELOPES IS $7.00.

The Senior
High is collecting empty inkjet cartridges for recycling. We
will receive up to $3.00 for each cartridge recycled, and the money will go
towards our Scholarship Fund. Simply place your old cartridge in a
plastic sandwich bag and deposit it in our collection bin. The acceptable cartridges are: HP,
Canon, Lexmark, Compaq, Sharp, Xerox, Apple, Okidata, and Dell.
Large laser cartridges are not accepted with this program and will not fit
through the holes on our collection box. In addition to raising money for
the Scholarship Fund, recycling
inkjet cartridges has a positive impact on the environment.
Consider the following: Nearly 1 million inkjets are thrown into our
landfills every day. Less than 5% of the cartridges produced are
recycled. It takes 1000 years for the plastic to decompose.
Questions about the program can be directed to Michelle Ebert at
201-738-9054.

Chancel
Flowers – The flowers in the Sanctuary & Friendship Hall on Sunday
mornings show expressions of thoughts. This includes memorials,
anniversaries, births, birthdays, gratitude or special occasions. You may pick up your flowers following the
second worship service or designate them to be delivered to shut ins. We have many openings coming up so....
You can sign up on the sheet in Friendship Hall or by calling the church office (973-835-1144).

Do you know about the First Reformed Church Trust Fund?
Thirty-four years ago, the consistory set up this endowment to provide a
dependable source of income for carrying on the Church’s work.
The Fund, which is managed under very strict rules
established at the time of its founding, provides an excellent way to
designate estate gifts such as life insurance proceeds or stocks and bonds,
or to give money in memory of someone. In order for gifts to go to the fund,
they must be specifically designated for the ‘First Reformed Church Trust
Fund’.
It is hoped that those among you who are considering
gifts to the Church will consider the Trust Fund as the recipient of the
gift. For further information, please contact Frank
Chara, Business Manager. A brochure providing details about the Fund is available in the
back of the sanctuary.
